Why is it that so few independent films are ever released?

Indie filmmakers often assume that distributors will pick up their films.

Because the film is loved by the public, they believe distributors will be interested in it.

However, this is seldom the case. Independent filmmakers are often used by distributors.

They use tactics such as delaying a film's release date until after awards season has ended.

They may delay the release of a low budget film until after summer blockbuster season begins.

Distributors try to keep films out of the hands of audiences until they've spent hundreds on tickets, popcorn, and candy.

They don't wish to lose those profits.

Are foreign sales more lucrative than domestic ones for Hollywood?

Yes, but not very much. Foreign revenues made up about 17% of total revenue in 2017. Domestic revenues made up 83%.

Over half of the world's population is actually located in overseas markets.

This means that people who may never have the chance to see a movie at home might still be curious about your movie.

How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?

Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. Three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions to produce them. They also spend millions marketing them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

It's probably between 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ additional films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.

They are not all destined to be overlooked. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

Hence why don't more of these films be released? Why aren't they released in theaters? Because they are too expensive to make.

If they were more affordable to produce they would be released into theaters.

That's where I come in. I can help you to find the best way to get your film into theaters.

I will show you how to maximize the return on your investment (ROI), and increase your chances of seeing your film in theaters.

Let's face the facts...

It can be difficult to get your movie into theaters. The process is complex, lengthy and involves many legalities.

It may also cost you plenty of money before you even get started.

You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Hollywood became famous because of its fame.

The answer was obvious. Because they were willing take risks and do something completely different, it became famous. They had the fortitude to make films that would remain in people's minds for years.

They were also bold enough to try new ideas.

Is Hollywood bigger than Bollywood?

The biggest challenge for any film producer is how to make sure his movie gets noticed by audiences.

Problem is, there are many films competing for viewers' time and money. The problem is that you will not be seen if you aren't different from the rest.

But what is the secret to making a movie successful. What makes an actor famous or a director? Or a director? You need to have talent but also luck. No matter how talented your actors are, if they have poor scripts, it will be impossible to get the job done.

Films can be divided into two categories: blockbuster films with large budgets or independent productions. Blockbuster films can cost hundreds and millions of dollars to make and distribute. These blockbuster movies are usually produced by big studios who want their movies to reach as broad an audience as possible. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.

Independent films, which are typically smaller-scale productions, can be financed either by individual investors or groups. These films focus on niche markets or cater to particular tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. But, they aren't necessarily cheaper to view. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.

The question is: Do we really need both types of movies? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is much bigger than Bollywood. That's because Hollywood produces almost twice as many movies per year as India does!
