FAQ

Are Hollywood and Bollywood bigger than Bollywood?

Producing a movie that is well-received by the public is the biggest challenge for film producers.

The problem is that there are many movies competing for people's time and money. It's hard to stand out among the rest and get noticed.

But what makes a movie successful? What makes an actor well-known? Or a director? It's not only talent, but also luck. It doesn't matter if your actors are the best in the world. But a poor script will make you lose everything.

There are two types of films: independent productions and blockbuster movies with big budgets. Producing and distributing blockbuster movies can cost hundreds of millions. They are typically made by huge studios who want to ensure that their movies reach a wide audience. But, these high-budget films are more appealing to older audiences.

Independent films are smaller-scale productions that may have to be financed individually or by groups of investors. These films usually target specific markets and appeal to specific tastes. They're usually less expensive to produce and market. This doesn't necessarily mean they are cheaper to watch. Many indie films can be difficult to find.

The question is whether we need both types. Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. Hollywood makes almost twice the number of movies each year than India.

Hollywood's fame?

The simple answer was yes. It was because they were willing and able to take risks. They were able to make films that would be remembered for many years.

They were also willing to try out new ideas.

Do I have the right to start my own distribution firm?

No. A distributor is required to operate a distribution firm.

You don't have to distribute films from other people, but you must still follow certain rules.

You can't, for example, charge different prices to different theaters. And you can't charge different fees to different customers.

It is also against the law to sell your services or products to other companies.

How much does it cost to distribute a feature film?

A typical distribution deal will cost between $100,000-$150,000.

Theaters cost an average of $10,000.

Screens cost on average around $5,000

It means that, if you have 100 screens your distribution fees would be $500,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.

What happens to my film if it doesn't do well in the box office?

There are many possible outcomes if your film fails to perform at the box offices.

You might want to change the marketing of your film.

Second, you might decide to rework the script.

Third, it is possible to add additional characters.

Fourth, you might decide that some characters should be removed

Fifth, you may decide to trim scenes.

Sixth, and you might decide that it wasn't worthwhile making the film.

How To

How to get an honor star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.

To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you have been approved, you will be given a certificate that shows your name and details, including date of birth, place of residence, occupation, and category. You also receive a bronze plaque with your name engraved on it. This plaque will be attached to a base of concrete in front the designated star.

If a member of the HWOF has nominated you, or if your contributions are significant to films, television, radio or theatre, or any other part of popular culture, you can apply for a Star. A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. A second letter confirms acceptance if the nominee accepts the nomination. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce will then pay $25. This money is forwarded to the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the applicant or organization. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due is dependent on the number of years since you were first recognized. If you were first nominated for a nomination in 1990, your owe $15,000. You would be responsible for $10,000 if you had been nominated previously in 1980.

To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

You must be at the least 18 year old to be nominated. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Family members may nominate you to be a star. If there are no living relatives, then the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place a memorial marker in front of the star.

Why can't we just choose a different street and not have stars all over?

The HWOF is not meant to be a historical monument. It is meant to honor those who contributed to film history.

What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250-300 lbs, so if you add up all the weight, that comes out to about 4 tons worth of stars!
