They were also bold enough to try new ideas.
What is the difference of a producer and distributor?
The movie is created by a producer. The movie is distributed via a distributor. Distributors, theaters and other companies, such as Netflix, can be sold directly by producers. Distributors buy movies directly from producers. Then they sell them to theaters, cable channels, or streaming services.
Distributors need to negotiate with theater owners about where their movies will play. This means that certain movies might be more expensive at some theaters than others. A distributor should have multiple theaters in order to ensure that your movie is seen by as many people possible.
Why aren't more independent films distributed?
Indie filmmakers often assume that distributors will pick up their films.
Because they are confident that the public will love their film, they believe distributors would be willing to buy it.
But this is rare. Independent filmmakers are often used by distributors.
They might delay a film’s release date until after the awards show has finished.
They delay the release of a low-budget movie until after the summer blockbuster seasons has started.
Distributors also try to keep films away from audiences until they've already spent hundreds of dollars on tickets, popcorn, or candy.
They don't want any of those profits to go to waste.
How much does it take to distribute a feature?
A distribution deal can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.
The average theater cost is about $10,000.
The average cost per screen is around $5,000.
That means that if you have 100 screens, then your distribution fee would be around $500,000.
Distribution fees are $50,000 for 10 screens.

How To
How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.
To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. After being approved, you will be issued a certificate stating your name, date and place of birth. It also includes information about your occupation, occupation and category. A bronze plaque with the name of your choice is included. This plaque will be attached to a base of concrete in front the designated star.
You can apply for a star if a current member of the HWOF nominated you or if you made significant contributions to movies, television, radio, theatre, music, or something else considered part of "popular culture." A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. If the person accepts, they will be sent a second letter to confirm their acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.
The department issues the Hollywood Chamber of commerce a check, payable to it. The check is sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The artist or organization then pays the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce half the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs takes the other half.
Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. To be eligible to list on the HWOF you will need to pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce all outstanding balance. The amount due is dependent on the number of years since you were first recognized. For example, if you were first nominated in 1990, you would owe $15,000. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.
You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove the name of your from the list.
How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?
To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. To receive a coveted star, one must be at least 18 years old. After receiving a star, one may still be nominated again after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
You can be nominated by your family members to receive a star. If there are no living relatives, then the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place a memorial marker in front of the star.
Why can't people choose to use a different street than having stars all over the place?
The HWOF doesn't intend to be historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.
What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves stole approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs approximately 250-300 pounds, which equates to 4 tons of stars.
