FAQ

How much does Hollywood earn in a single year?

A movie takes around $100 million to create. If you produced ten movies per year for a decade you would have enough money to purchase a small country.

A private island with an airport and power plant, as well as a bank, post office and police station, would be yours.

If this doesn't sound fun, you are insane.

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Hollywood studios produce around 3,000 films per year. Yes, that's correct, three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions on film advertising. They spend millions on their production. They also spend millions marketing them. But how many end up actually getting seen in the theaters, do you think?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.

But not all of them are destined to go unseen. Some of them are available for distribution via Netflix and Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus or iTunes, Google Play, and others.

Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why aren't they released in theaters? They are too expensive for production.

They would be released in theaters if they were less expensive to produce.

That's where I come in. I can help you to find the best way to get your film into theaters.

You'll learn how to maximize your return and increase the chances of your movie being shown in theaters.

Because let's face it...

It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process is long, complex and full of legalities.

It could also be costly before you even start.

You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

What happens if my movie doesn't do well at the box office

There are many possible outcomes if your film fails to perform at the box offices.

You may decide to alter the marketing strategy for your film.

Second, you may decide to rewrite the script.

You might also consider adding new characters.

Fourth, you might decide to remove some characters.

Fifth, you might decide to cut scenes.

Sixth, you may decide that the film isn't worth making.

How To

How to get your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce founded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, HWOF (Hollywood Walk of Fame) in 1960. The HWOF, located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, California. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.

You must first submit your name and address to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to become a member of HWOF. The Hollywood Department of Cultural Affairs then submits your information to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you have been approved, you will be given a certificate that shows your name and details, including date of birth, place of residence, occupation, and category. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is attached on a concrete base at the star.

If a member of the HWOF has nominated you, or if your contributions are significant to films, television, radio or theatre, or any other part of popular culture, you can apply for a Star. A committee evaluates all nominations and then decides whether to approve them. If they decide to approve, they write a letter to the address of the applicant explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.

The department issues a check payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which sends the check to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The artist or organization then pays the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce half the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.

Once the artist receives his/her star he/she will be eligible to be inducted into the HWOF. To be eligible for the HWOF, the artist must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce any balance. The amount due depends upon how many years ago your first nomination was. You would owe $15,000. If you were first Nominated in 1990, for example. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.

Contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to get your name removed from the HWOF and to repay any outstanding debts. They will remove the name of your from the list.

How old do you have to be in order to receive a star on HWOF?

To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. To receive a Star, one must still be living at the time. A star can be renominated after 10 years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

A family member can nominate your name for a star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce can place a memorial marker next to the star, if there aren't any living relatives.

Why don't people just use a different street instead of having stars all over the place?

The HWOF is not meant to be a historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.

What happened the star thefts? Around 1,200 stars were taken by the thieves. Each star is between 250-300 lbs. If you add all of the weight together, it comes to approximately 4 tons of stars!
