What is the difference of a producer and distributor?
The movie is produced by a producer. The movie is distributed through a distributor. Distributors and theaters are two options for producers to sell their movies. Distributors purchase movies directly from producers. Then they sell them to theaters, cable channels, or streaming services.
Distributors should negotiate with theater owners regarding where their movies are playing. This means that certain movies might be more expensive at some theaters than others. A distributor should have multiple theaters in order to ensure that your movie is seen by as many people possible.
Who is the most famous actor in Hollywood?
Tom Hanks holds a record for being the highest paid actor in history. He makes a minimum of $25,000,000 per movie. According to Celebrity Net Worth.
Will Smith takes second place, with $65 million earned over four decades for his involvement in Independence Day.
Tom Cruise is third, having earned $60 million over five-years for his role as Ethan Hunt on Mission Impossible.
Fourth place goes the Daniel Craig, with $50 million in four years of playing James Bond.
Fifth place goes to Leonardo DiCaprio who made $45 million in five years as a Titanic star.
Sixth place goes out to Brad Pitt. He earned $40 million in six years as a result of his portrayal of Steve McQueen's character in 12 Years a Slave.
Seventh place goes to Robert Downey Jr., who earned $35 million over seven years for playing Tony Stark/Iron Man in Iron Man.
Johnny Depp is eighth, having earned $30 million over eight seasons for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

10th place goes to Angelina Jolie, who earned $20 million over 11 years for her roles in Tomb Raider and Mr & Mrs Smith.
Is Hollywood more important than Bollywood?
Producing films that are well-received is the most difficult challenge.
The problem is that there are many movies competing for people's time and money. You won't be noticed if your movie isn't unique.
But what makes a movie popular? What makes an actor a star? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. Even if you have the most talented actors in the world they won't be able to make it work if they write bad scripts.
When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Blockbuster movies are expensive to produce and distribute. They're usually made by huge studios who want to ensure their movies reach as wide an audience as possible. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.
Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films focus on niche markets or cater to particular tastes. These films are often less expensive to produce or market. They aren't always more affordable to watch, however. Many indie films are hard to find.
So, the question is, do we need both kinds of films? Do we need big blockbuster movies and small independent ones? Hollywood is bigger than Bollywood, according to me. Hollywood makes almost twice the number of movies each year than India.
Hollywood's fame?
The answer was simple. It became famous because they were willing to take risks and do something different. They were able to make films that would be remembered for many years.
They also had the courage and vision to try new ideas.
How much does it cost for a feature movie to be distributed?
A typical distribution deal costs between $100,000-$150,000.
Theaters cost an average of $10,000.
The average screen cost is about $5,000
The distribution fee is approximately $500,000. If you have 100 screens then that would mean your cost to distribute the screen(s) is around $500,000.
Your distribution fees would be $50,000 if you had ten screens.
Are foreign sales more lucrative than domestic ones for Hollywood?
Yes, but it is only slightly. In 2017, foreign revenues accounted for about 17% of total revenue. Domestic revenues made up 83%.
Over half of the world’s population is found in overseas markets.
This means many people who might never watch a movie at home will still want to see yours.

How to get your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce founded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, HWOF (Hollywood Walk of Fame) in 1960. The HWOF's Los Angeles location is at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It's made up of 2,711 stars, which are embedded in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard. Each star is a symbol of someone who contributed to the production of motion pictures, television, radio and theater or other aspects popular culture. There are 1,922 individuals currently listed on HWOF.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is affixed to a concrete base in front of the designated star.
If you were nominated by an HWOF member, or if there are significant contributions made to the entertainment, film, radio, theatre, and music industries, you may be eligible for a "star" award. A committee evaluates the nominations and decides whether to approve them. If they do, they will send a letter explaining their decision to the applicant at his/her home address. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The applicant then pays $25 to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which forwards the money to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The department issues the Hollywood Chamber of commerce a check, payable to it. The check is sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the artist or organization whose application was accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce receives half of the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.
After an artist has received his/her Star, he/she can be eligible for the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. If you were nominated for the first time in 1990, you would owe $15,000.
To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will remove your name from this list.
How old must one be to get a HWOF star
You must be at the least 18 year old to be nominated. To receive a Star, one must still be living at the time. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Your family members can nominate you for a star. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.
Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?
The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.
What happened with the stars that were stolen? Around 1,200 stars were taken by the thieves. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
